Technical Requirements

Computer-based Yellis Baseline Test:

  • Windows 2000, NT, XP or Vista
  • Adobe Flash Player version 9 or above Free download is available from www.adobe.com
  • Screen resolution of at least 800 by 600
  • Cookies and ActiveX enabled. Pop-ups enabled for preference

Due to the varying capacity and reliability of schools' internet connections we provide two versions of the software:

For the Online (Internet) version of the test you require:
  • Broadband connection. We recommend 8Mbit (with no more than 8 pupils per Mbit)
  • Internet Cache – depends on your policy, but for a pupil test you will be required to download and cache around 4Mb of assessment materials
  • Internet browser, e.g. Internet Explorer version 7 or above Mozilla Firefox version 2 or above
  • JavaScript enabled 
For the Downloadable Standalone version, running on your local area network, you require:
  • Windows PC Network.
  • 35Mb of disk space on your LAN server for each cohort
  • Winzip or other utility to unzip an 12Mb zip file

 Computer-based Yellis Attitudinal Questionnaires:

  • Access to an Internet Browser using IE version 6 or Mozilla Firefox version 1.5.
  • Cookies enabled.
  • Pop-ups enabled.
  • Macromedia flash player version 9 (This program is free and can be downloaded from the Adobe website.)

PARIS for Yellis:

  • Windows PC
  • Microsoft Office version 97 or later
  • Microsoft Office Excel version 8 or above
  • Microsoft Office Access version 8 or above

Yellis Reports and Workbooks:

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader (This program is free and can be downloaded from the Adobe website.)
  • Microsoft Office Excel version 8 or above
